Things to do in Alghero
Alghero's old town is still ringed by 14th-century Catalan walls, and enough of the population still speaks Catalan that street signs are bilingual — this is the one corner of Sardinia that doesn't feel entirely Italian. Walk the Bastioni at sunset, browse the coral jewellery shops, then head out to Capo Caccia's cliffs for Neptune's Grotto, reached by 656 steps down or a short boat ride. Below are the top-rated tours, boat trips and cave visits.
